From childhood, my parents and grandparents kept telling me that prayers are the path to peace and tranquility. And probably due to that fact, I had immense faith in prayers and in turn The Almighty. I am sure we all follow some things without questioning or reason, so did I and probably would continue to. As I grew, I started questioning or finding out reasons on “why should I pray”. Such questions are easily ignored by elders in the family, as they also belonged to a generation of “i-wont-question-but-just-follow”, no offence, whatsoever.
I wandered off by discussing this with known people, friends and obviously internet is no exception. Everywhere, there was “if you believe so” prayers will definitely help reach The Almighty.
At one point, I stopped the wandering and started praying with nothing in mind. Slowly, I realized its potential. Now, I pray just for peace of mind, and the tranquility it brings.
Things I try not to do with Prayers
- Trade for something in return
- Having o motive
- Ask for nothing
And the Things I get with Prayers
- Feel forgiven
- Peace of mind
- Tears of relief
- Feeling of not being judged.
Soon, I realized, not all things are explainable in life. Some are to be felt, not always proven by science or any external body. The individual themselves have to realize this for anything to be believed.
So, here I am, with lots of hope
and faith in Prayers.
Peace be to all.
